I was given the opportunity to attend the Ultimate Sugar Show in partnership with Culinary Local. Conference is a business focused conference for aspiring & established professionals in the baking & sweets industry.

The Ultimate Sugar Show’s Sweet Makers Conference began in 2016 under the name the Sweet Fest® Business Conference (aka Sweet Fest Con).

This 4 day conference that began on Thursday with a Annual Skills Share-A-Thon networking event. During this evening social, conference attendees are invited to mix, mingle and try out new skills & some of your favorite products.

Decorating classes, business area which covered (startups, legal matters, marketing/social media, etc) as well as competitions.

There were several people after the fact that would have loved this conference and when it comes up next year, I will definitely tell them, but if you were thinking you would be walking around an endless event hall filled with yummy treats you would be wrong kinda.

The sales and marketing classes were of special interest to me due to me being a creative and maybe next time I will take part in some of them, but for the most part this is for those desiring to make more money, purchase supplies, etc.

Saturday, we had a special treat for the opening ceremony, Joshua John Russell, Atlanta Cake Artist from Man About Cake who took questions from the audience as we watched him dazzle us with his creations. In addition, there was an Open Question and Answer Panel designed to inspire and motivate the next generation of creatives.

Sunday was The Great Southern Bake Off which was a tasting competition to help raise money for the Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. This was the time to get your sweet eats on for charity:)
