Who would have thought that rap would take it this far? Fifty years later, and it is still going. I was born a couple of years before the first hip hop party, in 1973 was held by DJ Cool Herc. Hip Hip spread throughout darn near every aspect of my life and I am sure it did yours too.

Now let’s narrow this puppy down some more…in 1995, it was the year of that one line from Outkast member, Andre 3000, that changed the history of how hip hop has been seen in the South, “The South Got Something To Say.” And boy do they, but it had something to say all along, but more main stream when Arrested Development came out with Tennessee. I just found that out by watching this awesome documentary from AJC Films, called, The South Got Something To Say.

I received a preview copy for review, and it surely opened my eyes. When people say, Atlanta Influences Everything, that was not an exaggeration. From art, politics, music and more, Atlanta has been and will continue to say something.
