Pre-Valentine’s Day Fun

Pre-Valentine's-Day-Fun

Nothing red here except for my nails, baby. Red is the standard color for lovers on Valentine’s Day or for anyone going out anytime during that entire weekend. We were out in it right along with everyone else having, Pre-Valentine’s Day Fun. After much back and forth planning it was decided that we would get suited and booted (dressed up) for the afternoon/evening. We went to see Alvin dance at the Fox Theatre in Downtown Atlanta for an exciting family matinee performance. We could not take pictures so therefore I did not include any, but there were beautiful, respect outfits, nothing too revealing on either the males or females. There were all races, creeds and colors performing as well as in the audience. 3 different types of performances within the one performance: Exodus, Revelations (which was the crowd favorite) and Piazzolla Caldera. I am not sure which one was my favorite, but I would definitely see this again.

After the 2 hour performance we decided to go to eat dinner and we went to a place Downtown called Mary Macs, and I believe darn near everyone at the performance had the same plans. We had a wait but it was not too long. They could stand to expand the waiting area, but other than that it was not too bad. I felt for older patrons that had to wait for a table, but hopefully there were some respectful people there giving their seats to the elders.

2nd Part of Pre-Valentine’s Day Fun:

We finally sat down and looked over the menu. As some of you know, I am a researcher so when it was mentioned that this was the restaurant that we might be going to, I had an idea what I wanted to eat already so it did not take me long to make my selection. There are pencils at the table already and each patron is given a card that needs to be filled out, put your selections on the card and then give them to your waitstaff. They brought back our food and as you can see in the picture it was worth the wait. Good old fashioned soul food. Everything was great and we were sharing food left and right with each other at the table. Hubby and I will be back to try other items on the menu.

How was your Pre-Valentine’s Day?
