Georgia Renaissance Festival is back

Longevity is the key to most successful relationships and the Georgia Renaissance Festival is no different. The people love this attraction and based upon what I saw last week I see why. Check out my take on it below.

As you probably have come to know, you can live in Georgia for years and do not experience everything it has to offer and once again that was the case this past weekend. I was given 4 tickets to attend the Georgia Renaissance Festival and so we decided to ask our brother and sister from church if they wanted to go with us. They said sure and it was nice to have 3 newbies and 1 seasoned visitor to the festival in the group.

We were greeted by staff in English garb from the 1700s (don’t hold me to that because no one said that I received an A in history:)), playing a violin serenading us as we walked up to the ticket takers. He was so nice and took a picture with us peasants.

Bird-petting-at-Georgia-Renaissance-FestivalOur pals, Les and Diane grinned from ear to ear as they enjoyed petting the goose and bird in the Mother and Father Goose exhibit.

We walked around some more and found some other interesting and sometimes scary characters to the children: I call him (pause for dramatic affect)…..TREE MAN

There is fun for everyone and in this post I honestly could not capture everything but it will give you a good idea of what you can see when you visit.

You talk about on fire!! This feature was one of the most well liked shows in the festival. Standing room only for their last show of the day.

Can you say in a trance, even with the smiling faces. The men were told that they were the opposite sex and that they had to be pretty. I think hubby did a good job with that one. He has such a beautiful smile.

Fun games, being scared by those screaming “MEAT”, seeing tall men/women walking around, medieval dress/garb, elves, drinks (lots of drinks) and big tasty turkey legs who would want to miss it.
