Bearing Witness Book Review

Bearing-Witness-Book

How much are you willing to sacrifice to bear witness of Jesus Christ? What price are you or have you been willing to pay for the cause of Christ? There have always been in the past mentions of people dying for their beliefs in Christ, but did you know that it has been going on for years and continues to occur.

It sounds like it is fake or untrue, but it is indeed the truth and thousands have lost their lives that we will never hear about but in Bearing Witness, there are 36 stories giving accounts of Early Christians to present day Christians. If you enjoy history and faith and those two wrapped up together you will love this book.

I was intrigued by the account of William Tyndale leading figure in the Protestant reform, (died in 1536) and how he would challenge the so called smarties of the church because they went against the Bible. He was jailed, convicted of heresy and burnt at the stake.

He went against a decree stating that there were not to be Bibles translated into English (which he managed to do) and his translated version was the 1st to be printed. Talk about standing up. I just hope when it comes to being popular versus doing what is right, that I chose doing what is right even if it means possible death, in all forms, including connections and/or relationships.
