Reec Hope For The Holidays

I am always down for a community event. This past Sunday, I attended Reec’ Hope for the Holiday event. The event was just in time to show love to members of the community that need help. It is rough out here and Reec, from www.majicatl.com, along with his non-profit, Positive American Youth and the Venue helps us all out.

The event unfortunately started late, due to the turkeys arriving late. It was cold as heck out there, which was the challenge for me and others out there. I felt for the kids and the older adults out there, but this was the 1st event from my understanding, so I am sure next time things will be better.

Once you got inside, each person was able to get a toy per child, a turkey per family and a boxed lunch I believe one per person, but it may have been per adult. I was grateful to be able to get a toy for our grandson and there were lots to choose from.

Guests were able to enjoy the music, have funnel cakes and purchase bbq from a food truck if they wanted. The mayor of Austell, Ollie Clemons was in attendance and some celebrities.

Make sure to visit Positive American Youth and donate, so other events like this to help people in the community can continue.
