How to celebrate an 8th Wedding Anniversary

Celebrating your 8th wedding anniversary, or maybe even your 1st anniversary sometime soon and you live in the Metropolitan Atlanta Area?

If you live in Georgia, you might have heard of this place, but in case you have not let me tell you about a great place not too far away.

Callaway Gardens callawaygardens dot com) in Pine Mountain, GA for a staycation that is not too far away, but far away to take you away from your day in day out surroundings to where you feel like you are on a vacation.

This trip was a great surprise to me, because hubby planned the whole thing for us while I was out of town seeing about my dad who had just gotten home from having major surgery. He is so awesome. He chose a place that was far enough to far away to where we could not get back home quickly, but near enough that is it less than a 4 hour drive. See for those who do not know me, know that I do not like driving anywhere for a long time. I have got to get there quick by car or take a plane to get their quicker.

We stayed 3 days and 2 nights in a room on the property for not too much money. He saved us some money by getting a package from groupon dot com and the room was nice. The downfall for me was that it did not come with a refrigerator or microwave, but it was not necessary because we were not in our room often.

View-of-the-back-of-our-roomAs you can see, we had a view of the lovely pool and that is where we were even though, he was swimming and I was just there to look good:)

White-Swim-Suit Love-BirdsThe water is always nice to be near, whether it is from a swimming pool, lake or ocean. It was a great way to relax after having an emotional time with my family.

Once I was told that we were going away, I said to myself, I have got to find some food to eat while we are up there. There is no fast food for us this weekend. One of the best dinners we had while we were there was at the Country Kitchen.

Side note: there are not a lot of restaurants in the area and they tend to close early so just in case you have an idea for a restaurant in the area, trust me it is a good idea to open it there. Plenty of room for growth in the area.

The-Country-KitchenCountry-Kitchen-ViewAmazing view from the restaurant. I am sure someone lives down and up there. Butterfly-Museum-SiteTurtle-funWe will be back there to look at the rest of the sites. We did take our bikes and road to the man-made lake and yes by the time we got back to the vehicle we were exhausted so I did not care to see any more of the sites.

Thank you for reading.

God Bless!!!
