Nobody Loves You in Piedmont Park

If you did not get a chance to see NOBODY LOVES YOU when it was at the Horizon Theatre you have your chance now:
Horizon’s hit musical comedy is back – but OUTSIDE IN PIEDMONT PARK!

For the last two years Horizon Theatre Company’s energetic hit musicals AVENUE Q and THE TOXIC AVENGER were huge successes when we played to sell-out crowds under the trees and stars in Piedmont Park. We are back for a third time! This time with our hilarious musical comedy NOBODY LOVES YOU!

Nobody Loves You in Piedmont Park

The game of love is on! Tune into “Nobody Loves You,” the TV show-within-the-show that follows attractive singles pairing up to find love. When Jeff, a philosophy grad student, snags a spot on this reality dating show in trying to win back his ex, he finds himself breaking the rules to expose its “authenticity.” That is until he unexpectedly falls into an onset love connection with Jenny, an enticingly prickly producer. Along the way, we hit all the reality TV high points – tearful confessionals, the steamy Hot Tub Room, the Crush Ceremony, and explosive truths in the Minefield Tango. Take a behind-the-scenes ride through this hilarious musical comedy about the intimate and gut-wrenching quest for love while millions of viewers watch!

So come laugh and party with us in Piedmont Park this summer (in The Promenade area near the Atlanta Botanical Gardens and Sage Parking Garage).

Bring your own picnic or purchase from onsite food trucks and concessions/bar. Audiences can bring their own food, water, and soft drinks – but no alcohol or glass. Wine, beer, water and soft drinks will be available for purchase. Grounds open for picnicking at 6pm. Show starts at 7:30pm.

Downtown Decatur Food Tours Experience

What better way to explore Decatur Georgia than on a beautiful Saturday. The sun was out and everyone was greeted by our wonderful engaging and beautiful tour guide Tracy. Guests were not bored in the least. There was plenty of great eats and rich history which now I understand why they say “Decatur, where it’s Greater!!” I received a free ticket as a member of Culinary Local to write an honest and unbiased review.

Downtown Decatur Food Tours Experience

1st stop was at Taiyo Ramen and this was one of the highlights by far: steamed pork belly bun. Incredible!! I would have eaten at least 5 of these and enjoyed every one just like the 1st. Taiyo-Ramen-Downtown-Decatur-Food

2nd stop was at a wonderland filled with all types of sweets and retro items at Rocket Fizz: Each patron received 10% off of their purchase.

3rd stop was Calle Latina where we had a beef empanada with mango salsa. Yum.

4th stop: Sapori di Napoli where we had a slice of margherita pizza, had an arancini, shot of limoncello (one of my favorites, but it will put you out) and a cannoli for dessert.

Last but not least, was where I believe I was the most surprised: Splash of Olive where we were able to taste some incredible combinations that Tracy showed us. Who knew that balsamic vinegar can be so delicious.

If you are gluten free or have any special requests, please please let Tracy know and the restaurants will make specially prepared meals for you.

There are different types of tours at different price points and because Tracy did such a wonderful job and knew what she was talking about I will be back for another tour but I will bring some guests to take part in the wonderful experience. See that door in the picture below? Remember it if you decide to take the tour:)

No worries there were activities and so much fun to be had interacting with the rest of the group, that you will forget you actually are getting some exercise in as well.

Fogo de Chão: Perfect for Birthdays

Birthdays are one of the best reasons to celebrate and quite frankly, I found that Fogo de Chão: Perfect for Birthdays. Hubby wanted the experience of eating at a Brazilian restaurant and there I began researching which one I should take him to and after some time researching, I had to find the perfect one and it was Fogo de Chão. This was his first, but certainly not last experience of this type, so it had to be special.

Brief History:

1979 1st Fogo was born in Porto Alegre and the 2nd was born in 1987 in Sãn Paulo. 1997 Fogo expanded stateside to Texas and from there over 29 other Fogos have been born.

Looking at the pictures above you see why I say that Fogo de Chão: Perfect for Birthdays. We were treated special from the moment we walked in until the second we left. We have not had beef in a while in steak form and it was so good. We stuffed ourselves to the max. They gave us a little coaster to turn up to green if we wanted meat and if we did not we turned it over to red, but everytime we saw something new we quickly turned our coasters to the green side. It was crazy. We enjoyed the drinks, the food and the atmosphere. All of the staff were friendly and made great suggestions to us when we were not sure about the cut of meat that came to the table.

There are two locations in Georgia, Dunwoody and the one we visited was in the heart of Buckhead in Atlanta. They offer complimentary parking as well as self-parking. Make sure to make reservations, because there is no guarantee for walk ins.

Capers Restaurant and Bar

There are not many restaurants that I have frequented that have open kitchens, but Capers Restaurant and Bar does and that along with the beautifully decorated restaurant and lounging area is something that will keep you coming back. There is even a piano bar there, but unfortunately no one was performing that day, but we had enough great company that we did not miss the music. Speaking of decor, next time we go we will have to ask them if they will let us have some of those blue glasses:)

Capers Restaurant Located off of Old 41 in Kennesaw, I have heard great things about Capers on Main (when initially opened) so when hubby and I were asked to attend a friend’s Celebration of Life get together, we could not resist. We arrived before the birthday girl and chose to review the menu while we waited and the first thing we said to each other is that we will have to come back. There are many items on the menu that were selections we would make and surely be happy.

Capers founded in 2004 by Steve Dudley about 12 years ago in a small house beside the train tracks off of Main Street. Known for great tasting steak, chicken and seafood. We saw first hand some of the seafood selections and they looked very moist and we heard no complaints from the members of our party.

Hubby and I had vegetarian options (capers house salad and À la carte veggies) and I found a new love, Saratoga seltzer water and we were very happy. The Kale Salad was one that I will have to reproduce. I would challenge you to not tell someone you know that does not like kale and tell them to try it. They will not be disappointed.
